SafeWinch components

SafeWinch daily use

Vehicle entry procedure:

  1. Position the wheelchair at the base of the ramp.
  2. Press OUT to unwind the straps and hook them to the wheelchair.
  3. Press IN to start winching the wheelchair up the ramp, while gently guiding it toward its final position.
  4. Stop the winch once near the top and attach the rear tie-downs.
  5. Press IN again to fully tension the front straps.

For rear tie-down, we recommend using manually adjustable straps, pre-set to the correct length. The SafeWinch will automatically apply tension, eliminating the need for manual effort.
✅ When tension is correctly applied, the LED blinks twice.

6. Secure the occupant’s seatbelt.

7. Once the rear door (tailgate) is closed, the SafeWinch powers down and locks in its final position.

Vehicle exit procedure:

  1. Briefly press OUT to release strap tension and unlock the system, making it possible to unhook the rear tie-downs.
  2. Remove the rear tie-downs.
  3. Continue pressing OUT to lower the wheelchair down the ramp while guiding it.
Compliance and Certifications
  • The SafeWinch has undergone dynamic testing and is certified compliant with ISO 10542.
  • During certification testing, rear tie-down straps provided by SBS (Safety Belt Solutions) were used, along with a 3-point seatbelt with adjustable height for the occupant.
  • In collaboration with Safety Belt Solution (SBS), we offer ISO 10542-compliant dynamic testing, tailored to validate compatibility with the customer’s vehicle geometry and tie-down setup.
  • The two motor units must be installed on the front anchoring points, typically used for electric retractors.
These anchoring points must be tested and approved in accordance with regulation R14 by the vehicle converter or WAV kit manufacturer.
